Plus, Salem is getting a "Bewitched" statue courtesy of TV Land. The Puritans would be appalled. As would the women tried as witches. That's ten degrees of wrongness right there, between the very real trials, and the ugh.
'Smile Time'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Did "Bewitched" take place in Salem?
Google willl know...
It's taking an act of will to stay here at work. All I want to do is sit somewhere, eat food that's bad for me, and read fic. I should wait until after my doctor's appointment tomorrow to do this, though, I imagine.

They filmed a few VS episodes there, but it was set in CT.
AFAICT, Bewitched was set in Westport, CT. And the movie takes place in California. So the statue in Salem, MA is weird and wrong.
WTF does "Livin' in sin with a safety pin" mean?!??
I swear I thought the line was "Living in sin where the state begins."
And I realize that comment is more appropriate to Natter right now.
Ian Hunter says it was his term for "a Punk Goddess" in this interview:
Why did I write it? Because when Mott the Hoople first came to the U.S. back in the early 70's not many people knew us; the clubs we played on the coasts would be half empty. Then we got to Cleveland and the club would be jammed and we needed that. Always Cleveland and Memphis - before NYC or LA. 'Living in sin with a safety pin' 'safety pin' my termination for a 'punk goddess'.

See, THIS is why I had a dream you were heckling me! It was a prophetic dream!
t edit Oh, and my interpretation of the line makes sense, yo -- one could easily argue that Ohio begins up at the Lake, which is where Cleveland is. Therefore, living in sin where the state begins.

Ohio clearly begins at Kentucky and sheds hillbillies as it moves North were it collects Bohunks.
