I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, and my interpretation of the line makes sense, yo -- one could easily argue that Ohio begins up at the Lake, which is where Cleveland is. Therefore, living in sin where the state begins.

Ohio clearly begins at Kentucky and sheds hillbillies as it moves North were it collects Bohunks.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Fair point, as I am living proof of that.

No matter how far I get from my Mom's Georgia roots I can't shed the hillbilly. Shit, my Aunts sang country music on the radio and Hank Williams was just what the teenagers were into back then.

Cool pic for Jilli

Oooh. Yay distraction.

t whine, vent

I joined Weight Watchers last Thursday, and Sunday was the day I really started following it in earnest. I have this (possibly unrealistic) idea of trying to stay within my daily points limit and using as few of my weekly points as possible. Today is the first day I've felt cranky and hungry so far. I'm well aware that having 1 ounce of pretzels is not a moral failing AND that I'm going dancing tonight and that will earn me extra points for the day, but. Still.

So, is it completely crazy and wrong-headed of me to try and use as few of my weekly points as possible? Does attempting that lead to crankiness and crazy-land?

Aren't the first few days the crazy making ones until your body adjusts? I'd try to stick to goals, but give yourself a little leeway for the first week.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

It's not crazy, but the flexpoints are there for a reason. Use them. You won't lose weight much faster by not using them. In fact, I usually do better when I eat all my points, including flexpoints. It's far better to use some flexpoints when you start feeling hungry than to not use them and overeat later.

Jilli, I have never done WW myself, but I know a lot of people who have, and if you are feeling very hungry or shaky you are not eating enough or enough of the 0 point things at least. Also, not using all your points can actually lead to weight gain.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of it that way. I just know that I should keep as many of my flexpoints in reserve for the couple nights a week we go out to dinner.

(digs ziplock of bell pepper slices out)

Back to veggies I go. Thanks for letting me vent.

Good luck, Jilli.

Have I mentioned yet how much I love my new computer chair? My mother bought me a really cool executive style chair for an early birthday present and it is so cool and it is really helping with my back pain.

And, bell pepper slices?? Zero points, baby!
