Very exciting Kristin! Woo!
What a mess Lilty. How awful that they have to worry about safety during their time of grief.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Lilty, I have taken several self-defense courses, although it has been some years. There was a lot of emphasis being prepared to defend yourself and on simple techniques to hurt attackers so that you had time to run away and call for help. You could ask the instructor about whether the course is appropriate for older people, but I don't know of any reason why you can't make it a fun family outing. I think some self-defense training might be more effective than pepper spray, since this is a person who knows y'all and knows where you live. Under those circumstances, you'd have to have the pepper spray with you 24 hours a day. If you find him particularly creepy, you might want to make sure people have key-locking deadbolts on their doors and if he might have had access to keys, change the locks.
Yay, Kristin!
Thanks everyone!
Lilty, safety-ma to you, sweetie. How scary.
Congratulations, Kristin! It sounds very exciting. Sending you lots of strength for getting through the next few months, too.
Lilty, that does sound awful. Deadbolts and some self-defense tips sound like a very good idea for everyone.
I can't believe it's June. Wasn't it just Christmastime?
Timelies!
I'm still without internet service at home. Which sucks so bad. I called to find out what the ETA for my dsl modem was and got some chick who told me I wasn't getting it because I hadn't paid $99.95. Something that was never mentioned to me on Monday. Luckily she transfered me to someone who told me that the first woman was on crack. (paraphrasing there) and that the modem was free and shipped yesterday. So I should get it today or tomorrow.
Living alone has been great. I love it. However I'm still getting used to the quirks of the house. The backdoor only has a deadbolt, so I have to keep looking for my keys to lock and unlock it. I'm getting a copy made and keeping it in the kitchen. And the stove doesn't sit flush with the wall and while I was making dinner I managed to flip a piece of chicken behind the stove. I couldn't move it on my own so Mom's going to come over and we're going to move it. And while it's moved I'm going to clean back there.
My cat is adjusting okay, she only spent a little time hiding under the bed and give me "bitch! you betrayed me!" looks.
June will likely kill me. However, if I don't die or kill anyone else, or quit my job, then, iPod in July!
Hating June already.
Wasn't it just Christmastime?
Yes. But, soon it will be my birthday, so all will be ok.
askye, how exciting! Sorry about the no Internet service, but hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Nora, iPod! iPod! iPod! iPod! Also, {{{Nora}}}

This sounds so very much like something I would do. Actually, I think there's still a Chlorox bleach pen behind our washer.
Yay for moving in and the new modem coming! Glad you (and the kitty) are adjusting.
vw, insent.
and, backflung.
