Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I just have to deal with my debt load a little bit, first. Simple things like having enough saved for a deposit on an apartment, etc.
Steph is me.
I've been in this one place for 34 years. I'm ready to see what somewhere else is like.
Yup. Still me.
I moved in a panic with no prep work. I don't recommend it, but it worked like a charm for me. God bless the generosity of the LAistas (and that of Allyson's, since I asked the most of her), and the twisted fate that got me my security deposit (crack-headed stuff involving a semi-successful blackmail attempt leveraged at me and my parents).
Who knows how different it'd have been if I'd stuck out that one more month to the end of my lease?
What was, was. What is? Is good.
God bless the generosity of the LAistas (and that of Allyson's, since I asked the most of her)
The LAistas are wonderful, and Allyson is a goddess.
And anyone who needs to flee as ita did and heads to Northern California, we'll do our best to emulate the LAistas and give you the safety net you need to land safely.
Felicitations and Excelsior and Courage, Kristin, and all the Life-ma ever. I'm also eaten up with curiosity about the job offer too good to turn down, but intend to be polite and patient rather than proddy, since your comfort and your timetable matter a hell of a lot more than anyone else's nosiness.
Tep's mom and stepdad: Ever so slightly craxy.
Whatever boy did not respond to Erin's call had best be dead, or suffering from a closed head injury.
Lily is beautiful, of course.
Steph, and anyone else of the mindset, should definitely move somewhere new, where they'd have more cool people around them.
Also? I finally met my nephew yesterday, and will see him again tomorrow. He is also quite beautiful. He looks a little lik my sister, my BiL, me, and my dad (specifically, we have a picture of my dad at that age, and the resemblance is uncanny).
Happy Birthday, Sean! Hope there's cake in your future.
Lily Tickybox is, of course, gorgeous. I think I need to visit her (and Plei and Paul, of course) soon, so I can hold her and coo at her.
Go Kristen! Huge big life changes are scary, but I think this will be amazingly good for you. Lots and lots of courage to you.
Bitch question: How does one remove negative energy from a house?
If your friend doesn't want to do the sage smudging, tell them to fill a glass or ceramic bowl with water and sea salt, then walk around the house holding the bowl while visualizing white light radiating from it and illuminating every part of the house. After that's done, pour the water down the sink, imagining all sorts of black gunk and nastiness draining away.

I printed out an article about the smudging and brought it over to her. She is Lutheran, her kids go to Christian school, I wasn't sure what her reaction would be, but I know her well enough that she would discuss this with me.
She loved it. Read the native american references and she told me how she felt the native americans were the most spiritual people ever. How she feels closest to God when she is in nature. So she is planning on doing this as a project with her kids. She expects eye rolls from the hubby. I figure if she feels better about her house after the hubby will smooch me.
edit: Thanks Jilli. I'll suggest that too.

::snork::
Okay, yay for your friend being all open minded and stuff, but that cliche is about on par with the "women are closer to the earth" one.
I can't help thinking of the Malcom in the Middle episode where the eldest son, after leaving military school and moving to Alaska, becomes obsessed with a totem pole that his friends stole.
He spends the episode trying to figure out what the figure carved in it mean, until the owner bursts in and takes it back. Turns out, he'd carved it with his kids, and it doesn't mean anything.
Bye meara!!! Much travel~ma. You will be missed. Lots~of~access~ma so we can get updates.
My love for Malcolm is great. But hey! You mean women aren't closer to the earth?
I'm running out, but I just read you lovely post in Natter and it sounds like a nice birthday is in the making. May you look back on this year of your life as the one where everything fell into place for you.
