Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
So looks like I'm going to be an LAista as of August, unless something big changes.
Wow. Sounds like something big already changed. This is hard stuff, Kristin. Wishing you large sturdy blocks of courage.
And selfishly, very happy to have you in California. Now I can get back to work on Teppy, Jen, SA, askye, Shrift ...
Damn, Kristin, that's so great.
I want that cape. Lilac or hot pink? Bearing in mind that I already have a purple cape (fleece, not wool) and a hot pink duster (linen).
Unpacking is so much more fun than packing. And now our fridge and pantry are full, we are so close to being civilized I can almost taste it.
it will be worth a lot more in a few years once the gold course goes in down the street
Yep, gold courses do up the values in a 'hood
LAista! Wow. Can you disclose more of this coastal shift?
I seem to have missed important Music Store Guy news!
I saw him for a third time and happily daydreamed about it on the way home. Now I have David's smoochage prophecy to dream over (and do my best to fulfull).
Kristin, that's so exciting. I can't wait to move. As much as I love Maine and it'll always be "home", more signs pop up every day that it's time for me to move on. All the friends are practically married/pregnant/already moved away, I'm sick of my job and there doesn't seem to be a point in getting a new one when next spring I plan to go, and I feel homesick everytime I get home from a day in the city. It's scary, but fun to have a (however vague) goal in place.
Hec, it was fun- i went to the counter and asked the dude if he could order me a cd by a band called Polaris. He chuckled and led me over to the employee picks section and grabbed me the last one. Then he said "My picks section is naked now." I think it was a badge of honor for him.
Hee. I want a gold course. Silly morning typos.
Laura, at this point, the only thing I can disclose is that it looks like it is happening. There are a lot of "but if" scenarios attached to it still, so I'm hesitant to say more until they've settled.
I'll still be bicoastal girl since I'll have the house in CT, though, at least for now.
Kristin, WOW! That's so exciting! The more Buffistas that pick up and move to where they really want to be, the more I'm motivated to do the same.
smacks self upside head
Am idiot!
Lily is beyond gorgeous - I dragged my flatmate away from her work to come and admire the cute, and then I forgot to even comment? I'm an ass. I think my favourite was the Lilyhand pic - but the yawning one was also
adorable,
and the Destroyer of Sleep one... basically, this is one fabulous and personality-ful wee person. Bless.
One of the job offers is
really
good and very hard to turn down. So I figure...why turn it down?

This.
I can't say enough about picking up and moving. Sure, it's not a global fix (some of your problems will come with you, and you'll make new ones there), but if you can fix one thing, everything else can get more attention.
But I have a compulsive need to move every 7 years or so. I understand that there can be a comfort in being in one place too.
Ple is a fantastic photographer. You should've seen all her jaw dropping self-portraits. She has a crazy skill set.
Paul took most of the Lily pics, mind.
She has this amazing ability to squirm JUST as you get the shot, the silly monster.

Good logic!
