Oh, and now she's complaining about how long my chapters are. And she's someone without an FFN account, so I can't even reply.
It's really entertaining.
I've never understood people who don't just *stop reading*. If you don't like something, you're under no obligation to stay, and certainly not to nitpick and whine.
I opened a really promising SPN story this morning, and within paragraphs I had a windscreen and Sam talking about Dean "boxing him about the ears" so ... I closed it. It's easy!
Well, she does seem to like the story: she's posted comments on every chapter. But the few things she's criticizing... aren't actually things subject to critique. It's odd.

I've had that one! Another commenter said, "No, they're not long enough!"
Cross-posting from the SPN thread: just stumbled across an announcement for an mpreg BB. And I am simply baffled.
Is it a kink to see a man preggers, or is it more a fifteen year olds (/iz mean) fantasy to have bebbies and mpreg is the stylish solution when slashing men?

How long should a chapter be? It should be long enough to immediately precede the next one.

More the first, I think.

I think that's an unnecessarily reductionist interpretation. Mpreg has a long history in fandom, and there probably are as many reasons for writing it as anything else. From kink to exploring alien biology to subconsciously applying a heteronormative framework on a gay relationship to actively fucking with the gender binary.
Plus the "let's force the tough guy to be nurturing" thing.
