I met him when he was still Victoria Bitter!
Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Evil twin! A "son" who is actually a bird!
SHUT UP. I had missed that update. The last bit I saw was where the "son" was a bird.
Right? I mean I have to say though, the bird thing just pales next to the Evil Twin claim. This is truly the wank that keeps on giving. Here's a direct link to the source of the "Evil Twin" intel. [link] That link has been edited onto the latest fandomwank entry, as well.
shrift, I searched the thread for "Victoria Bitter" before I posted this, because although I hadn't seen it mentioned in the past 100 posts, I thought I could have missed something. I found your original post where you mention meeting VB at a con.
eta...
Have any of our Harry Potter fic readers read this DAYD fic or come into contact with Andrew Blake/Thanfiction through the Potterverse?
From my original post:
The latest is that Player is claiming that he really is Adam Player and Amy Player is his Actual Evil Twin.
Adam should read Andrew. Sorry about that. I keep thinking he was an Adam somewhere along the way and then mixing that up with Andrew. It's Andrew Blake aka Andrew Player.
Unrelated to the fandomwank brouhaha, can someone explain what "female characters getting fridged" means for me please?
It refers to female characters being killed in order to advance a male character's storyline. Usually to give him angst and stuff.
Thanks Dana. I had noticed that plot element overused way too often before, but I hadn't realized it has a handy title.
I am occasionally entertained at how often these discussions in teh blogosphere end up using a link to TVTropes.com. And I remember being one of the first tropers.
Huh.
I can't quite believe that the site is also the focus of a lot of the Victoria Bitter wank.
I always feel the same way when tvtropes comes up -- even more so when it happens in real life (my ex-boss discovered the site the other day and a half a dozen people immediately twittered "see you in a few months!" and the like) (as did I, but also thought "hey, I was there before it was even a domain!")
I always feel kind of skeeved when it comes up.
(Hell, Sean and I, we were ADMINS in the first days! Ahahaha.)
