I seem to recall Thing swordfighting with Gomez Addams. But it could just be my mind having fun, as it occasionally does. Still, if Thing did do the swordfighting, I guess it could wield a lightsaber, too.

I would think Thing would have more difficulty wielding a sword than a lightsaber, as the center of gravity of the sword is away from the handle, resulting in Thing sometimes tipping over.

Not always. Some swords have their fulcrums near the hilt. What sort of sword? Where do epees balance? Rapiers?
