Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Aw, yes! It's a collection of essays called, Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby? and it's about my adventures in fandom.

I'm querying agents now, and, fingers crossed, someone will represent me and get my book out into the world.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Someone do something for me, so I can thank them, stat!

I'd send you some treats if I had your address.

Aurelia, ita didn't answer. That means you should send them all to me.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm feeling meh about my hair. It's mom-hair. Longish, layered just enough for body, dark auburn of the leaning-towards-natural variety.

The cut's good. It can stay. Which means it's color time. Sadly, I just did it about a week and a half ago, so I can't do it again unless I'm using a semi, and anyhow, it has to wait until I have money again (please let me get more than 8 hours of work done this week).

So, as I have time to think about what I want to do. My hair got darker during pregnancy, and shows no signs of going back to the old light rusty brown.

Do I:

A: Go lighter and golder, to a nice copper Batgirl/Scully shade. Pros: summery, bright, bold, more like the me I hold in my head. Cons: would require stripping existing color, and would also lead to obvious root line within three weeks on account of aforementioned darker hair. Maintaining would require a dye with lift, so demi-perms are out as an option once the ideal color is reached, so damage would be an issue.

B: Stay dark, but go to a brighter cherry red. Pros: darker hair has more shine than lighter hair, wouldn't require stripping, can be done and maintained with a decent demi-perm, less obvious rootline. Decidedly not mom hair, and Paul likes it darker. Cons: too easy to tip from red to red-violet if not careful, cherry reds occasionally fade out to mud, not the hair of the me in my head, doesn't photograph as well as a lighter red.

C: Something I haven't thought of yet.

Any suggestions from the hairista crowd?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

24: TONY!!!! NOOOOO!

I'm thinking of having some friends over soon, and am trying to think of lots of wee finger food type things to make. Suggestions?

Cream cheese with a cucumber slice sprinkled with dill weed over the cracker of your choice. Simple, pretty, and tasty.

Actually she answered so quickly it was funny. Never question ita's timing. And BTW, I finally made it to the post office with your package.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Allyson, I like a kind of grocery store meze platter for parties -- olives, cured meat, cheese, hummus, veggies.

I'm sad about Skin Deep! But she was CRANKY.

I just randomly saw a show with Greg Proops, Jeff Goldblum, and Lewis Black. It was pretty good, even though we were sitting literally up against the stage -- Jeff Goldblum called out my friend's "peg tooth."

I'm pretty sure the store gets a constant supply.

More 24: I thought the kiss must be one of those occasional happys. Now the boot is just there. Hovering.

Are you ready to be strong?

PMM, how about keeping most of it pretty dark but getting shiny dark copper or bronze or reddish highlights--not in streaks but in, like, little sheets/bunches?

I like Rio's idea. I may have to steal it for myself.
