Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Devilled eggs always go over well (although I personally hate them). Chips and a good salsa. This sounds gross, but it's easy and scrumptious--we went to a buffet once at a Japanese-American friend's house and she served one of her mother's dishes--cut up hot dogs on toothpicks marinated in soy sauce and sherry and microwaved. She could not bring them out fast enough, I tell ya!

Also? apples and that caramel dip from the grocery store.

I'e also made a mess of easy black beans (a couple cans of green chile, a chopped onion, garlic and 2 cans goyo black beas in a frying pan, with cinnamon) and toasted corn tortillas (large chips would work) or flour tortillas. And of course, shredded cheese.

My mom was at a party last weekend and sung to the heavens about toasted baguette slices (can buy them that way) and an olive tapenade- store bought. I think that's all she had. And a lot of wine.

Not exactly finger food, but I know most of our friends just come to our Christmas open house for the Honeybaked ham which we serve with small rolls or good crackers and a jar of mustard.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I always make devilled eggs for gatherings. Love 'em. Also make good chicken wings marinaded in soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and lemon. Fry 'em up, yummy. Maybe that and an antipasto and some cookies would be a good buncha yum.

Bruschetta I'll always eat.

And veggie dip.

I'll show up for your food, Allyson!

Laughing too hard here. Mom's ps included orders to block whatever mouseholes exist. She says she's getting to heart attack age.

But she's gonna get to meet Mister Kitty. She'll get over it.

Now if only I have a/c.... (2 weeks and counting.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Allyson way back in another thread you mentioned something in wistful mode about your when your "book is published". As number one skimmer/skipper do I take it you have written a book? Or you are writing a book? Cause your style rocks; if you have written something I'll bet it is great. [ I mean besides your column and the articles you already publish.]

I hadn't picked up on that at all. Nice.
