Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Get 'em, Fay!!

I am totally broken out all over my face. I don't want to put makeup on for fear that I'll make it worse, but I have to get on a plane in a couple of hours (read: be in public with zitty face). Hates the period.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Which isn't a bad thing if those people are incompatable with your preferred lifestyle.

Yes, that's why we develop the filters in the first place. "Incompatible" is an important concept.

Plei speaks for me with her cat love, if you substitute in dogs. My DH accepts that someday, after we have a house, there will be a puppy, although he never had pets and really can't understand why anyone else would want them. Although I haven't lived with a dog full time for 15+ years, I can't imagine never having one. My sister just brought home her new Boston Terrier pup (2.5 lbs!) and I am dying of the cuteness she describes.

Fay, that's a good letter. I hope the evil boss can appreciate how much more unpleasant it would be to have you leave abruptly than have to actually pay you for your work.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Wonderful letter, Fay.

ION, Annabel apparently likes the Wiggles almost as much to Sesame Street. I think I'll limit her kids' TV to just those two shows for now, though. Not least because neither actually makes my ears bleed. And it's just cute the way she points to the Sesame Street characters and laughs, or dances to Wiggles musical numbers.

Too true! And best for all involved, or not involved as the case may be. A catless cat person like me would have made the other person miserable with my catless misery.

Fay, great letter.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yes, but I know too many people (men and women) who have immutable lists and reject folks after one or two dates without ever finding out if things can be dealt with. I always said I would never be with a smoker. BF smoked like a chimney for the first four years of our relationship. He quit when I got bronchitis for the second time and hasn't smoked again. If he hadn't, we would have figured out a way to live with it--he has to smoke outside or only near an open window, or whatever. Some things. like having children, are huge sacrifices and may end a relationship, but I would say you wait to see how much each of you is willing to invest and how wonderful the person might be before you decide.

Not being able to have cats is undealy. Having cats in my life is just that important to me.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I don't want to put makeup on for fear that I'll make it worse,

t unsolicited advice

A light layer of concealer and powder will help you feel better without creating too much of a problem. (If your face gets a little oily, you can dab it with a kleenex but don't rub or touch your face excessively)

Thanks, beathen. I'll do just that (and wash my face the minute I get to my hotel room).
