What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gloomcookie has a new tag, and I don't think I even know what her actual first name is.

Nora, I'm sorry you had a bad night.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Word consistently wants me to change the last name of our Sr. Exec VP and Manging Dir. to "Cuddles". I don't think he'd find it amusing.

Oh, brenda, that's amusing.

I'm trying to catch up on some things I didn't get done yesterday. Right now I'm seeing what I have to put together my "portfolio" for creative writing. Fortunately, I've done all of the assignments and optional assignments, so I should be good to go with the number of things written. Unfortunately, though, I have not been good about continuing to revise said assignments. So, I've got a lot of revising to do over the next week and a half.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Word consistently wants me to change

Add his name to the dictionary!

Now tagless for your comfort.

>Baby costs came in today: 11k+. Don't remember how much of that's covered, though. These breast barnacles are 'xpensive!

Ouch. But I think that sounds about right (all associated costs--epidural, hospital, OB and ped came in around 12K for us. We were responsible for 10% of that but we had stashed enough in our flexible spending account to cover our portion. I thank super-planny husband for that.) Also, BWAH! That's the best baby-related phrase I've ever heard.

Oh lord, that's fantastic. And I feel obliged now to share the information that an enclosure for platypi is called a platypussary. And that I just clicked on a website (http://www.platypuscomputing.com/platwhat.html) that played the sound of kookaburras laughing, and it made me very happy. And I just refreshed the page, so they'd do it again.

It's a VERY good show--all about helping and sharing but with an ECHIDNA!! Bonus. Their theme music includes a didgeridoo, too, which is cool. Platypussary? Hee!

Nora, righteous anger indeed! I've had to deal with my twin sister's jealousy a few times because I appear to have the life she wants sometimes (husband, kid). But at least she's never yelled at me for it. It's not like your life is something that just dropped into your lap. You work hard for it and the people in it. Gah, it's just horrible to be so jealous you'd berate a friend in public for something like that.

Poker party went very well last night. I came out $5 richer than I went in after coming in 2nd in the Texas Hold 'Em tournament.

Done. And no variation of "cuddle" is there anymore. But after the venereal incident the other day, I'm freaked out all over again that it'll splip past someone.

Now you'll need to write about cuddling -- and boom! His name.

It's the way.

Spellcheck always wants to change my first name to Mount.

Huh, nobody's ever called me Spellcheck before...

Ok...in getting ready for starting to put together this portfolio, I went through everything I've been given back by the professor (I keep them in their own folder). I am missing assignments turned in on the following dates:

February 14
February 22
March 8
April 1

Plus, every revision that I've written this semester (I quit turning them in sometime in March, because it was clear he wasn't going to get them back to me...and I decided I didn't need the frustration) has not been returned...some of those go back to early February as well.

Please tell me I'm not off-base in being frustrated by this. I've even talked to the professor about it. There's only 1 1/2 weeks left in the semester. This portfolio is 50% of my grade. I really need this stuff back so I can make revisions and know where I stand walking into turning in the portfolio.

eta: I know this started a kind of a huge deal when I brought it up before. I'm not trying to start a huge deal again. I'm honestly asking if I have a right to be frustrated by this. 'Cause if the teachers and profs around the board feel that I don't, then I need to change my attitude about it, which is what I did before. I'm afraid, though, that I really let it go, maybe to a point that may end up hurting my grade, 'cause I'll be rushed to get these things revised.

Come back! I didn't mean to kill the thread. I promise I won't complain about school or profs anymore. Only positive comments will come from these fingers. Promise!
