Can I mop your brow? I am at the ready with the fearsome brow-mop.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Spellcheck always wants to change my first name to Mount.

What is even happening?

Happy belated birthday, D. Gris!

Your sister is very sweet. What a nice post.

These breast barnacles are 'xpensive!
Okay, Plei. That's one of the funniest expressions I've ever read--certainly one of the funnier ones about babies. Hee. I hope most of that is covered for you.

Points accusing finger at Topic!Cindy -- HEATHEN!!
Au contraire, Narrataire. It is I who honored the sacred timeslot. J'accuse.

(This would be so much better if I'd had even a semester of French, in high school.)

Carrot cake is veg, right?
No. It is sugar, fat, and some shredded veg that is cooked long enough that its starch is converted to sugar. I can't fake up carrot cake.
:: cries::

Now, now. Don't cry. It is not veg. It is cake. But that's okay, because in my world, cake is allowed. There are no evil foods, hence there is no reason to re-classify them.

Nora, I'm sorry your great night turned out sort of crappy. I feel badly for your friend too, but the kind of badly that makes me want to shake her into clue-dom.

Happy Belated Birthday, Gris!

Nora, that is just awful. I am so sorry...like you need that right now.

I'm up WAY earlier than I hoped to be. Stupid period.

Timelies!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gloomcookie has a new tag, and I don't think I even know what her actual first name is.

Nora, I'm sorry you had a bad night.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Word consistently wants me to change the last name of our Sr. Exec VP and Manging Dir. to "Cuddles". I don't think he'd find it amusing.

Oh, brenda, that's amusing.

I'm trying to catch up on some things I didn't get done yesterday. Right now I'm seeing what I have to put together my "portfolio" for creative writing. Fortunately, I've done all of the assignments and optional assignments, so I should be good to go with the number of things written. Unfortunately, though, I have not been good about continuing to revise said assignments. So, I've got a lot of revising to do over the next week and a half.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Add his name to the dictionary!

Now tagless for your comfort.

>Baby costs came in today: 11k+. Don't remember how much of that's covered, though. These breast barnacles are 'xpensive!

Ouch. But I think that sounds about right (all associated costs--epidural, hospital, OB and ped came in around 12K for us. We were responsible for 10% of that but we had stashed enough in our flexible spending account to cover our portion. I thank super-planny husband for that.) Also, BWAH! That's the best baby-related phrase I've ever heard.

Oh lord, that's fantastic. And I feel obliged now to share the information that an enclosure for platypi is called a platypussary. And that I just clicked on a website (http://www.platypuscomputing.com/platwhat.html) that played the sound of kookaburras laughing, and it made me very happy. And I just refreshed the page, so they'd do it again.

It's a VERY good show--all about helping and sharing but with an ECHIDNA!! Bonus. Their theme music includes a didgeridoo, too, which is cool. Platypussary? Hee!

Nora, righteous anger indeed! I've had to deal with my twin sister's jealousy a few times because I appear to have the life she wants sometimes (husband, kid). But at least she's never yelled at me for it. It's not like your life is something that just dropped into your lap. You work hard for it and the people in it. Gah, it's just horrible to be so jealous you'd berate a friend in public for something like that.

Poker party went very well last night. I came out $5 richer than I went in after coming in 2nd in the Texas Hold 'Em tournament.

Done. And no variation of "cuddle" is there anymore. But after the venereal incident the other day, I'm freaked out all over again that it'll splip past someone.

Now you'll need to write about cuddling -- and boom! His name.

It's the way.
