Oh Susan, those are fabulous. I went a little gaga over lockets awhile back. I have a few I will never get around to putting pictures in, I feel sure. But I do wear them, occasionally.
Everybody who needed hugs today, I hope you got them when you needed them. I'll just scatter a few nameless ones in case there's anyone still in need. I had a decent day and a nice afternoon, and made a decision that's been nagging at me. It's probably gonna bite me on the ass, but I think I'm right.
And now I'm off to catch up in LJ and read a bit before bed.
Timelies!
I'm getting ready to send off my resume for two different on-campus positions. Eek! I've been out of the workforce for a little while, so this is very exciting for me (also a little nervous-making). I know I've been hoarding an awful lot of ~ma lately, but if anyone has spare job~ma, I wouldn't turn it down.
It's alive!! [link]
I'm so happy about this.
Oh, that's so cool, billytea.
Jobma galore to you, vw.
Susan, I'm sorry for your loss.
Sail, if daughter breaks up with tech whiz, you should nab him. Okay, that's gross, but you could stay friends with him. 24 hour tech support is a good thing.
Hey, tech whiz is 30! I wouldn't feel like a total cradle robber. Just kinda like I stole him out of middle school. Which is "ewww" enough as it is.
Job~ma, vw!
Oh, I don't care about age differences. Just since he was dating your daughter first, it could be a little oogy making. But with 24 hour tech support--what's a little oog?
I saw the sweetest grayhound today. Tom and I were coming out of our apartment, still up the steps on the deck. The grayhound came by (with her owner) and came up the stairs to say hello.
I want a dog so badly. Specifically, a grayhound. This desire predates this morning's lovefest, though, I've dog-sat grayhounds and they are just the sweetest.
They really are, Nora. What does Tom think about getting a dog? Is it something that's a possibility in your future? I think you guys would be wonderful dog parents.
Nora, I'm glad you were able to relax some, last night. When do you move to your new place?
You know, he wasn't so much of a dog person when we first met, but I did a LOT of dog-sitting with him as "company" and he's gotten in the groove of things. He likes grayhounds a lot. I'd like to think about getting a dog once we get settled and figure things out. We will have a fenced in yard... but I don't know how grayhound legs/hips would deal with going up and down all the stairs all the time.
I think eventually we'll get a dog. I hope it's in the relatively near future (in about a year or so). Or maybe some dog will get us!
