Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ann, that's a ferret.

My father's bank will take weeks to process a check if you listen to him

Possible, if the safeguard exceptions come into play often -- e.g., he deposits large amounts or is frequently overdrawn.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Three weeks? I doubt any of those conditions apply, but like I said, it's hard to know with him.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Remember Steph, the ferret is quick but the Earth is dust.

I seriously think a glass of wine or a shot of whiskey would go a long way toward blunting this edginess. I do not, however, keep booze at the office.

Maybe I should go around asking my co-workers if they have booze. That's a good way to stay employed.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Where is that from, if not from your own spicy brain? I want to be able to cite it properly if/when I steal it shamelessly.

It is from Kosh on B5, whom I miss now that he is dead. If I were ever president, I'd want Kosh for my press secretary.

Yeah, every president needs a large alien in an encounter suit making cryptic pronouncements.

Oh, good, a broadcast source. I can use it with impunity, then.

The only Bab5 quote I know is "No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow." Ah, Ivanava.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, my! What a day it's been so far. The gist? My idea for my senior honors thesis has not only been approved, but my advisor thinks that there will be a fight over who sponsors the project. Also, I will probably get money from a scholarship fund to pay for my trip to Chicago at the end of the summer to interview my grandmother for said project.

Also, the coordinator of the honors program thinks I am the perfect replacement for a girl that is graduating this semester, so I may have a job!

Now, if only I have such an easy time over at the CCDE office. I'm not holding my breath, though. These other things have just been too easy. There needs to be a karmic balance at some point.
