Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Ooh! WindSparrow and Daniel schmoop! Yay for making the waitresses giggle!

And then when we were packing up, a very nice, lovely woman approached me and asked me to sign her book. Then she said, "Actually I'm a lurker who supports you in email." She said she'd been lurking on the boards since back in the TT days, and was in town for the event and decided to swing by. Made my night - thank you, Dee.

A long time ago I said I thought of the long-time lurkers as being like the angels in Wings of Desire -- beneficent, invisible witnesses among us. And meeting Dee only confirmed that suspicion.

"Actually I'm a lurker who supports you in email." That's so very cool. Hi Dee, if you lurk here.

Hec, I like the way you think of lurking Buffistas.

Mostly lurking...

Timelies!

WindSparrow and Daniel, sounds like you had such a nice time. I'm so glad!

Hec, such a cool story! Hi Dee!

I got a full night sleep! Yay! Maybe getting through today will be a little easier. I've got an important appointment this afternoon with a Social Security benefits counselor. It's mostly an information session, but I need to figure out what I'm going to do when my supplement and health insurance end in July...trying to think ahead.

Trust my rage

Yay! vw for a full night's sleep. I'm sure it felt great.

Today is Burrell's induction, correct? Sending some everything-goes-smoothly~ma her way.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think she was induced earlier than planned - or did I imagine that? Suddenly I'm not sure.

Stephanie, I think you're right. I had forgotten about that. I remember seeing Burrell around on Sunday, so I suppose it's possible she ended up going in yesterday, but I don't remember seeing anything about that. Well, either way, induction~ma heading her way.

Our wings are not tired.

She was here yesterday, but indeed today is the day. Effortless induction~ma. My 2nd was 2-1/2 hours. Can't say it was easier, just way faster.

What is even happening?

Burrell was posting here and in Natter before 3:00pm board time, and I didn't see any mention of making the induction earlier. Her last post in Beep Me said she'd go to the hospital early this morning.

Burrell, I hope the whole labor and delivery process goes quickly and easily for you, and that your baby only needs a nudge.

(I have to really restrain myself from going all Melanie Wilkes whenever a baby is on its way)

Ann, that's a ferret.

Have an easy delivery, Burrell!

Trust my rage

Due to my current inability to handle chemicals and Joe's deployment, I'd been looking for some lawn guys to come fertilize the lawn, cut the grass, and spread some mulch. My lawn is not that large - I bet it would take 45 minutes to cut the grass.

This morning, two guys, referred to me by a neighbor, came to my house and offered to do what I needed for $250. I told the guy there was no way I'd pay that much, but I would pay $150. I have to say that I still think I'm paying way too much. I'm doing it because the weeds are driving me crazy and I don't want to do it myself because of the chemicals involved, but still...seems like a lot of money. I've never had lawn work done before and I guess this is why.

Coding and Sleeping

Could you hire a teenager to come and spread the fertilizer and then do the non-chemical stuff yourself?
