Since y'all enjoyed my Sister Patricia story so much, here's another (she was my first grade teacher). One day she told us to line up for the restroom. I stood up and promptly fell down. She came over and yelled at me to get up. I couldn't and I was scared. She continued to yell and tell me I just wanted attention. I started crying. My mom was called as I couldn't ("wouldn't") get up. Well, I ended up in the hospital for several days, got a spinal tap, couldn't walk. Turned out to be a mysterious ailment that went away on its own ("Must have been a virus settled in the child's spine"). Did the nun apologize? Hell no.

Oh, you're going down, man. You'd better watch the annuli and nuclei of your vertebral disks.

Whew! Caught up. Now I shall say goodnight Buffistas! I'll catch up to you tomorrow.
Ok, I'll add my $0.02 to the numbers thing. I had a basic electronics class in college. I never could understand how they relied on an imaginary number i (square root of -1) to describe real world processes like electricity.
Silly math. I think the matrix has me.
thanks for the birthday wishes.
my best to Ouise and family
Seconding the appreciation for all the lovely birthday wishes. Thanks muchly.
All in all, a great day. Capped with mounds and mounds of my favorite sushi, a nice white chocolate cake and "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "Trash". (I've got converts ready to line up for the bdm right now!)
It was a day when it felt good to be me. I hope the same was true for each of you. Not the being me, of course...
G'night and good wishes to all.
But Lizzie Borden being acquitted is the bestest part.
Actually, at the time the Bordens were killed, several eyewitnesses saw a man running around their house, apparently looking for a way in. He seemed to be very upset about something, and he was later identified as a former patient/associate (my memory is a little fuzzy) of Mr. Borden who was known to be violent. So there's a good chance Lizzie got off because, despite what everyone "knew" happened, there wasn't a case.
Poking around the net, Little People of America defines dwarfism as anyone 4'10" or under. Which I could see for men, but I wouldn't consider a 4'10" woman a dwarf, I've had several women friends who were less than 5 feet tall.
Anyone want to recap 24 for me?
