I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Thanks, Steph. Last I heard, Mom's BP was under control, but they've been keeping me in the dark about health stuff of late. For example, the day before I went to Dallas, Mom went to the hospital for related GI tract problems. Essentially, food went in and didn't come out. For a couple of weeks. She and Dad decided not to tell me about it until after I got back, because they "didn't want me to worry." So naturally I spent my trip to Amsterdam wondering if they were still breathing, or if one had decided to leave the other's cooling corpse in the armchair until after my plane landed at the Raleigh-Durham airport.

Actually, I called them on the 11th to say I was back in the country, and my first sentence was, "Hi Dad. Any interesting hospitalizations while I was gone?" There hadn't been. Mom went to the hospital again on the 12th instead. Oy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Apparently the rhythm has, in fact, gotten to me.

What dread disease am I dying from?

The Pirate Roberts disease.

Someone had to do it (I probably missed a post somwhere).

And, in other news, apparently shrift is working for Quakers.

What is even happening?

Calli, do they know it is fluid? Any chance she has fibroids or a cyst, or something?

I hope they find it and treat it, whatever the cause, and that she gets better, soon.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Someone just called to ask me how it is that I do my job. I've no idea how to respond.
