Oh crap. Apparently Paul Hester of Crowded House and Split Enz has committed suicide.
Yeah, when I heard about it last week, I immediately contacted my friend Gary, a big fan of theirs when we were in college.
He said it wasn't as devastating as if it was one of the leads, but still shook him. "I'm OK... it is a bit weird to have a guy's autograph on my wall who is now dead... it's also the first death of a member of my favorite band... kinda like if Ringo went first."
Timelies all!
Spent yesterday at a friend's house watching various things on DVD.(Two
anime features, one movie and a bunch of Simpsons eps) Today, despite the fact that it is lovely outside, I have vacuumed and steam cleaned the carpets in the main bedroom and living room/dining room. Not sure how much that helped, but I tried...

NO! I loved him in Crowded House. What a shame.
We were watching the wrong panda cam. This one seems to have a lot more action.
Cashmere, they were on the front page of our local paper today too. I love that the handlers get a big kick out of Bai Yun (humm.. I almost typed Bai Ling..hee!) scrapes off bark and uses it like perfume!
Attention Aimee, said paper also had a big article about camels at the Drum Barracks in Harbor City yesterday (PS Emma is too darn cute for words!)
Perkins' going away party was much fun last night but sad because she's moving away *sniffle*
It was really, really nice outside today. I took some pictures. [link]
Those are glorious, Tom! I particularly love the magnolias.
All Perkins' stuff are belong to us.
It's very strange to be taking someone's things. Even if she is telling us to and even oacking bags for us.
Tom, those are fantastic pictures. You have a good eye. (In fact, you have two.)
I just got in from a long walk, because it's gorgeous here, too -- the weatherbar on my computer tells me it's 82, and I believe it. Just gorgeous. I bought a cup of warm pink lemonade for a quarter from girls with a stand at the end of their driveway, b/c I believe in supporting free enterprise.

Okay, no, really, it's because I was thirsty and had a dollar in my pocket.
Am currently sucking down H2O and trying to cool off. Then I have to get a shower, take the recycleables to the recycling center, and get some groceries. Nice weather like this always makes me want seafood. Maybe scallops.
