Do you have the manufacturer's name handy? I don't know where there's a Suncoast in NYC, but I'll bet someone has them online.
Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Guess the plot twist of Shyamalan next film, Lady in the Water:
She's no lady; she's his WIFE! t rimshot
Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week. Try the muffaletta.
So if I only read the first book, and that only once a really long time ago, so I don't remember most of it, am I going to like H2G2?
This was exactly my situation, and I loved the movie. I remembered just enough to understand everything, but not so much that I could get upset at what was left out or changed.
I thought they did a great job with all of the casting -- though, was Trillian American in the books? I can't remember.
And I want a yarn Marvin. (or possibly a yarn Zaphod.)
The Chicken Little trailer is genius.
I've been looking for how to get the plushies but could only find Chud or NECA. I don't see where to order any. Chud has a picture of them under news/January 27th.
How'd this get into the Shirtless Orlando thing.
It wasn't Shirtless Orlando. It was Mostly Shirtless Orlando.
He looks meatier for this than Troy. Man breasts. Less ripped.
Weekend boxoffice, which I wouldn't have predicted:
1.The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)$21.7M$21.7M 2.The Interpreter (2005)$14.2M$43.6M 3.xXx: State of the Union (2005)$13.7M$13.7M 4.The Amityville Horror (2005)$8.1M$55.1M 5.Sahara (2005)$6M$57.2M 6.A Lot Like Love (2005)$5.22M$14.7M 7.Gong fu (2004)$3.84M$13.2M 8.Fever Pitch (2005)$3.75M$36.5M 9.Robots (2005)$2.65M$124M 10.Guess Who (2005)$2.2M$65.5M
Yeah, I assumed H2G2 was going to get creamed by State of the Union. Pleased to be wrong, though!
I assumed that H2G2 would have a more limited appeal. Nice to be wrong.
Although I bet its numbers drop off pretty sharply, as most of the diehard fans have probably seen it by now.
I think industry folks were most surprised by xXx's poor showing.
I need to resolve to go see it again next weekend for the yarn sequence alone .

I think you're probably right -- I have no idea how big the repeat audience is going to be. (I mean, I've seen it 4 times, but only accidentally, and 2 of those didn't count for box office.)
