'Never Leave Me'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

"Origin" is easily my favorite episode of all 5 seasons. (And it's the one that made me realize VK is a good actor.)

And "Home" is the episode I always remember that, during the watch-and-post, Tim (Minear, that is) was posting, and my cable blipped for about 30 seconds of the broadcast towards the end (when they're in the W&H lobby, and Lorne is saying he's going to take the job). I posted an anguished wail that my cable blipped and I missed a little part, and next thing I knew, Tim e-mailed me that chunk of the script. He's good people.

I think they could have done something with Cordy & Gunn based on "First Impressions," but the show never really did anything with that pseudo-meet cute vibe afterwards.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's definitely something I'd need to see proven, since I didn't see them play out with much chemistry or potential beyond the platonic.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wes and Lilah for the win. Speaking of dysfunctional . . .

"Keep the glasses on..."

But Cordy never had chemistry with anybody. Not sexual chemistry. Not with Angel, not with Wes, not with Groo, not with Gunn. She's the anti-Spike.

I think she had definite chemistry with Xander. I also liked her with the Groosalug.

You're right; that worked.

But maybe that's more on NB since he had good chemistry with Willow, Anya and Spike.

How about Doyle?

There's a spark or two. To be honest, there were a few times where she and Angel worked. I thought "Waiting in the Wings" was about the highpoint of that ship.

Yeah, I'll give you that one. Joss was able to make it seem like there might be some viable attraction for a second or two, but no one else was able to.

Back in early seasons of Buffy I liked it that HBIC!Cordy had her sights set on Angel and seemed a workable romantic rival for Buffy. But I liked it even better that she treated him like a leper once she found out about his vampirism.
