'War Stories'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Mark has an entertaining typo in his review of the Yoko Factor: "Adam refusing to leave the room to give Buffy and Angel to talk, and Angel and Buffy deciding to just leave the room themselves. It’s both a sick burn and super hard to watch. I kind of love the show for this moment."

That would've been hilarious, Adam turns up just to observe all the awkwardness. "Tell me of this thing you call... jealous boyfriend crap." Plus, I would've enjoyed Adam calling Angel "Mr billowy coat king of pain". Better than his usual dialogue. Someone should put together a sequence of the many thousands of times he says "Yes."

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

And, honestly, I like Riley. I always did. S4 was my introduction to Buffy, though, and that may have influenced me. But really, I just like him. I don't like what happened with him in S5, but I really liked him in S4.

Totally with you there.

Giles smothering Riley would have been the HSQ of all time.

Oooooooooooh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday, SMG!

Top of my Head Favorite SMG Acting Moments:

1. "It's not enough time!" - I Will Remember You
2. "Giles, I'm sixteen years old! I don't want to die." - Prophecy Girl
3. "I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones." - Restless
4. "But what else could I expect from a bunch of low-rent, no account hoodlums like you? Hoodlums yes! I mean you and your friends, your whole sex. Throw 'em in the sea for all I care! Throw 'em in and wait for the bubbles. Men with your groping and spitting, all groin, no brain, three billion of you passing around the same worn-out urge. Men! With your... Sales!" - Restless
5. Her staking motion during Giles slide presentation in Hush.

6. Pretending to be the Buffybot for Spike at the end of "Intervention."

Good one!

It's a marvelous piece of acting. Usually in a scene like that, the actor just plays the pretend character for maximum audience foolage, but she actually plays Buffy playing the Buffybot. You can see the little layers. It's great.

Faith-in-Buffy.

Especially the mirror stuff.

Yesssssss.

Ha ha ha, oh, J. August Richards.

Also, re: Mark's review of "Restless":

I wrote like...2400 words about that episode. I HAD SO MUCH TO SAY.
