I'm not evil again. Why does everyone think that?

Angel ,'Sleeper'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm guessing IWRY is going to break Mark into teeny tiny pieces.

True!

I never thought about the fact that IWRY is sort of a precursor to the Connor mindwipe. Consulting people before taking away their memories? Never!

Ann, that's a ferret.

Just read Mark's review of "Something Blue."

He really is that unspoiled.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's been 14 years since Xander lied to Buffy about Angel, and I can't believe I'm still having that argument, but what I think is kinda interesting this time is all the assumptions that this particular Xander defender has made about me, based, I think, entirely on the information that I think Xander should have told the truth.

He's totally convinced that I'm a Buffy/Angel shipper who really likes Buffy as a person. It's fascinating to me at the prejudices someone thinks I need to have in order to take an unrelated position. Like, he's sure he has to undermine me by pointing out my irrationality.

He has a very low opinion of shippers, so obviously being one at all makes me suspect, but obvious a Bangel shipper is the worst right now at having perspective. And I must *really* like Buffy, because I'm looking at this from her sentimental point of view, not Xander's more rational position.

Basically, I think he probably thinks I'm wrong because I'm a girl, but he can't/won't frame it that way. All the subtext is there, though.

I mean, I've seen Xander supported with other arguments, but this particular one is really weakly predicated on me being too emotional to see straight.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh.

I refuse to be judged for projecting my big ol’ gay life all over you Willow. I don’t even care that you’re straight, you are my big ol’ gay best friend

He does love Willow a lot; I wonder what he'll think of her in season six.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

He's already seen Doppelgangland, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's interesting seeing how some people are picking up on Willow's predilection towards using magic instead of facing emotional consequences.

brillig

I'm wondering what his reaction to Willow and Tara's relationship is.

It's something that's really become apparent this time around, for me. I don't know whether I really noticed it before, but it starts really early on, and it's incredibly consistent. Season six was just waiting to happen the whole time. (It makes it more annoying that they went the MAGICRACK route when all the character development was right there. That could have been executed better.)
