Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

'Help'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sure, if you have a short and narrow life.

Okay, better it.

One season of one TV show, plus one book series.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is that the only epitome? I can't watch movies and read comics at the same time as read books and watch TV at the same time? I can bust out Community and Lord of the Rings while reading American Gods and The Dark Knight Returns any time I want--that's the magic of, well, now.

Like I said, a short and narrow life if it's otherwise.

That's the only one I postulated. Within the context of Things Mark Will Actually Review Based On His To-Be-Reviewed List.

But I'd like to hear your top two. Any media, side by side.

And in Mark Reads a new threshold:

"Please don't use the word "cuckoo", as it's a synonym for "crazy", a word disallowed on this site."

And that, my friend, is a short and narrow life, if it's all he ever reads and watches before he dies. You disagree, seriously?

But I'd cheerfully just swap Buffy S3 for S2 and Tolkien for Gaiman and consider that experience bested. I don't even have to switch media or genres or think hard.

Well, for all that I will know from him reporting it. The scope of my comment is entirely within the context of his site.

Though you are right to note his life is bigger than what I read of it.

But I'd cheerfully just swap Buffy S3 for S2 and Tolkien for Gaiman and consider that experience bested.

Which Gaiman?

American Gods. I'm not going to argue it's more seminal or influential or would even make a better movie, but I sure had a better time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My comment was entirely motivated by knowing what's on his To Be Reviewed List and I don't see a better combination.

However, I am now curious about anybody else's combo pack of Watched/Read.

ita's in for Buffy S2/American Gods.

What's your fandom joy zone?

I'm not a Mark fan, and even if I was up on the existence and contents of his list, I wouldn't imagine it was complete. That would be...shortsighted.

Well, then I have a more informed opinion on the matter of whether It Will Ever Be Better For Mark.

Based on that information: it won't.

He's going to watch Saved by the Bell and read Sweet Valley High romances. That's it. Then he's moving on to Who's the Boss/Xanth, followed by Charmed/Bill Willingham's work that wasn't Fables.

And then, of course, die in a fire.
