Willow ,'Lies My Parents Told Me'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm sorry if that's harsh.

But, P-Cow, you are very eligible! You are a good looking straight guy in the Bay Area who is employed (and well respected at work), financially solvent, has his own car and does cool creative things. You're a good friend and you're good company.

You're so money and you don't even know it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Also skip that interminable grey zone where you don't know if she "likes you" likes you, or just wants to be friends and you just don't know and you're getting mixed signals and you thought she liked you but you didn't say anything for eight months and then were surprised and bummed out when she started dating somebody else who just asked her out.

Also, having been the girl version of this person, I can state from painful personal experience that it's just all kinds of bad and emotionally damaging. You get all emotionally bound up with someone who doesn't even know it; even if something eventually gets started there's a huge period of weirdness just because you've had all the big feelings stewing for months (or longer--speaking purely theoretically about an imaginary girl-type person whose resemblance to me is purely coincidental, you understand) and the other person really hasn't been thinking much about it at all one way or the other until just recently.

I sincerely and earnestly aim never to be single again until I'm much too elderly to care, but if I ever am, I swear I'm never gonna let a feeling stew. Even the good feelings get all weird and florid and toxic if they're not exposed to the open air.

Look at that blatant intent to outlive me!

I've been plotting to do so ever since I deviously went and got myself born seven years after you. Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I should check her history and see if she's shopping for nail guns.

I would. (Wait, this is probably why I'm this single, huh? Pointing out what's lethal at Lowe's.)

Hubby and I often quote Angel when at the hardware stores. "They didn't even have chainsaws then."
