Right. Sir. Honey.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I cannot wait to hear how he reacts to the big revelation in Angel and then the end of Surprise.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Reading the Mark Watches thread made me go back and look at our archives and pulled up Buffy 10.

Dayum, we were talky. Ple was hating on Xander. Jessica was hating on Willow. And I found myself welcoming Vonnie to the board for the first time, and also seeing where Elena proposes the Coffee On My Monitor thread.

******

Rebecca Lizard: Babe, if I were drinking coffee, and if I were the type to splutter, it would be on my keyboard. Hypothetical coffee compliments.

Elena: I wish we could have a TT type thread, maybe called "Coffee on my Moniter" where we could stick posts we absolutely love but don't have space to tag.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

The birth of COMM was the death of NATLBSB.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The birth of COMM was the death of NATLBSB.

A sentence that would only make sense to us, or possibly a nuclear missile base technician in North Dakota.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jessica was hating on Willow.

Wait, what? This must have been S6 or 7...

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

And I found myself welcoming Vonnie to the board for the first time

Ha! You just made me go look up the thread. Young!Vonnie (well, younger!Vonnie, at any rate) cracked me the hell up -- I was in the full-on "saucy wench" mode, trying very hard to be charming and witty upon my delurking. You guys were pretty intimidating to a newbie, you know. I cannot believe I have been on this board since 2002.

I just spent happy and nostalgic half an hour skipping and skimming through that thread. The contentious season 6 generated some fantastic discussions.

You guys were pretty intimidating to a newbie,

Well, we were arguing about Nietzsche and Kierkegaard and the addiction metaphor for Willow's Will to Power.

The contentious season 6 generated some fantastic discussions.

It did! Plus lots of names I'd forgotten but were very active: Mike Hicks, Lilty, Amber B., Jean A., Brenna, Nuella, Torez, Tick, India M...

And look at that, ita's already fucking with punctuation as :ita:

And remember folks the mnemonic is: "Smashed" was smashing; "Wrecked" is a wreck.

Damnit, you've sucked me into a rabbit hole! I've fallen into Buffy 10 and I can't get out!

Holy christ I was an annoying little shit ten years ago. Why didn't anyone TELL me????

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also I'd forgotten about the loan shark in "Tabula Rasa" being an actual shark-man.

We probably need a list of special effects and monster costumes that desperately failed entirely due to conception and/or budget.

I remember a fair number of demons with horns that wobbled, and giant snakes in cheesy CGI.

Of course, actually getting to see the Slime Demon with his neat I'm-going-on-a-date suit and antlers was fun.
