I think the best hour of Jossverse TV was "Home" but I think the best hour of TV I've seen this last 10-11 years was either "In My Time of Dying" or "What Is And What Should Never Be" even though both of those have the dubious honor of raising expectations on a show where you should have the bar set the same as you'd set it to, say a Keanu Reeves movie, so you can be pleasantly surprised when it's enjoyable.
(Best Hour of TV, 1980s US editon: that one Magnum PI that I can't remember the name of. Best Hour of TV, early to mid 90s editon: Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose. All rankings totally subjective, natch.)
Buffy? Gotta be "Doublemeat Palace." Hands down.
I give it a lot of points for showing just how awful the service industry can be. I'd nominate "Bad Eggs" for worst Buffy ep. Not even the Wild Bunch shout-out makes it worth watching again.

The "Did you see the sun rise today?" ep?
that one Magnum PI that I can't remember the name of.
The one where he's treading water the entire time and suffering hallucinations?
Is the M*A*S*H ep where Henry goes away (and subsequently gets shot down) 70s or 80s? Because that one and the one from the perspective of the soldier that they were fighting to keep alive (with the clock in the bottom corner) were great.

"Did You See the Sunrise?"?
Because that one and the one from the perspective of the soldier that they were fighting to keep alive (with the clock in the bottom corner) were great.
That's actually two different episodes. One is from the soldier's POV, but he's mostly OK once he gets past the OR; the other is when they only have x number or minutes (or something like that) before blood loss will cause brain damage (or some irreversible condition - possibly death).
That was 1974. (The one where Henry leaves.)
"In My Time of Dying" or "What Is And What Should Never Be"
What show(s) is/are those?
I give it a lot of points for showing just how awful the service industry can be.
I spent several summers working at fast food restaurants. But DMP seemed to be Buffy's rock bottom -- think of the sex scene by the dumpster. She's thoroughly depressed, there's no hope, and it isn't even heartbreaking in a good way.
