The "Did you see the sun rise today?" ep?
'Shindig'
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

The one where he's treading water the entire time and suffering hallucinations?
Is the M*A*S*H ep where Henry goes away (and subsequently gets shot down) 70s or 80s? Because that one and the one from the perspective of the soldier that they were fighting to keep alive (with the clock in the bottom corner) were great.

That's actually two different episodes. One is from the soldier's POV, but he's mostly OK once he gets past the OR; the other is when they only have x number or minutes (or something like that) before blood loss will cause brain damage (or some irreversible condition - possibly death).
That was 1974. (The one where Henry leaves.)
"In My Time of Dying" or "What Is And What Should Never Be"
What show(s) is/are those?
Supernatural.
I give it a lot of points for showing just how awful the service industry can be.
I spent several summers working at fast food restaurants. But DMP seemed to be Buffy's rock bottom -- think of the sex scene by the dumpster. She's thoroughly depressed, there's no hope, and it isn't even heartbreaking in a good way.

My least favorite episode evar. Obvious, obnoxious and just plain yuck.
The "Did you see the sun rise today?" ep?
Yes! Man, that one.
I have a Depressed Hopeless Fast Food Past fondness for DMP.
What show(s) is/are those?
Yeah, as Sumi says, Supernatural. I think the difference for me is that there's a sort of slickness to Joss's writing, a self-awareness that for me, distances or cools the emotional impact, where Kripke and Co., especially during S1 and S2, have a slightly less refined/thought out approach that at times works in their favor, allowing for accidental depths of utter emotional sincerity.
