Fucking a corpse who you mistakenly thought was your boyfriend isn't a great display of agency.
It's not a terrific use of agency, sure, but it's hard to argue that she was the passive one in that situation.
'Out Of Gas'
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

And the Mexican wrestlers one, too.
I do not get the love for this episode. i spent most of it wishing for the end. HAAAAAAAAAAATE.
Smile Time wasn't awful, but it certainly wouldn't be in my top 10.

...there's love for this episode? What? Where? And for the love of God, why?
Look, I don't hate it, but it was like watching those pieces of art (or just porn pictures) that makes you tilt your head, trying to reappreciate the object in question. And, well, I think I maybe can appreciate this episode in question. From far away. Without watching it, or trying to see the 3D painting hiding behind it. Only in this case, it seems like there wasn't a 3D painting.
I'll stop now, because there's a limit to the number of metaphors I can scramble.
It has luchadors! AND midget luchadors! And ghost luchadors! If it'd had ghost midget luchadors it would have been perfect.
I dunno, I think Bell's sense of humor is very close to mine, so that's a big part of it. Bitter, crabby Angel usually entertains me. And then it's a big signpost pointing to the finale, so bonus points for that.
Numero Cinco is perhaps my favorite Angel episode.

This is the single best hour of television ever created. Bar none.
I think that you have to have a basic love of wrestling to get it/love it. I really like the ep, but I spent Saturday mornings of my childhood watching Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (he was dreeeeamy), Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Rick Flair (woo!)
I think that you have to have a basic love of wrestling to get it/love itI'm pretty sure that you don't, since... I don't.
But I couldn't put it in the "best ever" category. I mean, Spike's in it.

Nope - I have zero interest in wrestling of any kind, but I do adore Numero Cinco. I don't know that I'd label it "best hour of television ever created," but it's definitely way up there on my list of favorite standalone AtS eps. It's just got such fantastic tight storytelling. Plus El Diablo Robotico.

Love is perhaps a strong word. Enjoyment?
