Lorne: You know what they say about people who need people. Connor: They're the luckiest people in the world. Lorne: You been sneaking peeks at my Streisand collection again, Kiddo? Connor: Just kinda popped out.

'Time Bomb'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

...there's love for this episode? What? Where? And for the love of God, why?

This is the single best hour of television ever created. Bar none.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think that you have to have a basic love of wrestling to get it/love it. I really like the ep, but I spent Saturday mornings of my childhood watching Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (he was dreeeeamy), Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Rick Flair (woo!)

I'm pretty sure that you don't, since... I don't.

But I couldn't put it in the "best ever" category. I mean, Spike's in it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Nope - I have zero interest in wrestling of any kind, but I do adore Numero Cinco. I don't know that I'd label it "best hour of television ever created," but it's definitely way up there on my list of favorite standalone AtS eps. It's just got such fantastic tight storytelling. Plus El Diablo Robotico.

Love is perhaps a strong word. Enjoyment?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Seconded. I mean, you don't have to know anything about wrestling to love a line like "The devil has built a robot!"

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I didn't hate Numero Cinco but (like Shir) I felt like I never was able to cross my eyes enough to see the sailboat.

Punishingly Intricate

I dunno, I think Bell's sense of humor is very close to mine, so that's a big part of it. Bitter, crabby Angel usually entertains me.

Me too!

(And I also don't have a love of wrestling..although I do love OTT Show Folk)

::sitting in the corner with Strega and lisah::

I think that's why I have such love for season two. I wanted Angel to stay "kinda beige" or whatever it was Lorne called him.

But trust me, if you have a love of Mexican wrestling (not the lousy American stuff) and all the peculiar retro sci-fi junk that went with it (Seriously, luchadores were totally turned into comic book heroes in their day, fighting monsters and stuff -- kind of like what Americans were doing with Kiss in the '70s) and that particular sense of humor: Oh yes. There is much, much love.
