We're still working on a plan, but so far it involves being sent to prison and becoming somebody's bitch.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can't figure any rational reason for it at all.

Because it's our word for us, and he's using it to mean something else?

Maybe not strictly rational, but understandable.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

aside from the guy

Well it struck me as odd when he used it that way, but it didn't strike me as unprecedented. I could be misremembering.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Or maybe you're less, because you're rejecting Joss-approved works in the universe.

that raises an interesting question -- if the creator creates an AU, is that canon or no? or is it new canon? or is it "comic book canon"? hmmmmmmm

And the original vision may just be the movie.

nah. Joss said that the movie wasn't true to his original vision

(umm, you know that I'm just playing devil's advocate because I'm bored, right? I don't really care)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've seen "buffista" used in print (to mean generic Buffy fan) more than once.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Which is disturbing the fuck out of me as well.
A world of ewww and nooooooo!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

damn, we should have trademarked. I mean, we were using buffista as early as 1997 or 98

Strega - May 25, 2006 9:14:02 am PDT #3006 of 10464

Yeah, I see it used as a term for Buffy fans in general from time to time. I know it was at TeeVee.org recently. And Google turns up "Buffista" on Usenet back in 1998.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I know someone else had buffista.com at some point; I express surprise that it's frequently used in another context just because we seem to have this conversation whenever it happens.

What is even happening?

I knew the term "Buffistas" long before I knew about The Buffistas. In fact, there were no "Buffistas" when the term was first applied to the TT Buffy thread at Salon, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I know someone else had buffista.com at some point;

They still do

I'm not sure if this is who had it way back when, but I'm pretty sure Dana knew the fan in question.
