Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Hey. New board.

Yeah, 'WTF SISTER?!?!" is my favorite HSQ moment in Buffy, too. It's just so... weird. Sadly, "Two to Go" was my first Buffy episode ever, and I had no clue what was going on at all, so "GILES!" did nothing for me.

In Angel, nothing ever went as far as Doyle's early death for me, though a really large portion of Season 2 came very close.

Because books.

Ack. I totally forgot that one. Maybe because I'm not a huge Dawn fan. But I was unspoiled for that, and I was like, "OMGWTF?!"

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I will say again that Wesley's introduction on Angel made me about fall off my couch, which just goes to show I should sit further back.

However, it wasn't the same sort of !!!... !!! moment as the pillow.

HSQ, in general, was less effective for me on BtVS. I think most of the things that would have seriously made me yelp happened in S2, when I was a much more casual viewer and not invested enough to care.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I want to say it's Giles's "I'd like to test that theory," but I knew he was coming back. I squeed, but I wasn't surprised.

see, THIS is why I avoid spoilers like the plague. there's nothing like the HSQ for something like that. I was watching with maybe 10 people, and we all SHRIEKED "GILES!" there were high fives and whatnot!! it wouldn't have been the same if I'd known. Plus, when I'm spoiled for something (by accident or because I don't care), I just wait for the spoliery bit to happen, then enjoy the show.

Because books.

I wasn't even spoiled for Giles's return, I just *knew* that he'd be coming back for the final episode. So while I still get a little racy thrill from hearing that line and seeing him in the doorway, there wasn't as much holy-shit! as there was there's-my-man!, you know?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Angel: pillow; lawyerfest; Justine in the closet

Buffy: naked Angel; Giles killing Ben/Glory; dead Joyce

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Now that we've got the favorites, what was your LEAST favorite moment (HSQ or not) on Buffy and Angel?

Buffy - The cookie dough speech, bar none. That whole scene felt completely out of character for Angel, and I expected that Buffy would have been able to articulate her feelings a bit better at that point.

Angel - The flashbacks in TGiQ. Way to emasculate the Scourge of Europe.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hated: going to Pylea after the most excellent S2. The idea that Angel and Cordelia were TWU WUV. The champion idea.

The stuff I hated about Buffy was more slow burn and building irritation. The Angel botheration was WHY HAVE YOU FUCKED ME SO??? WHERE IS MY LUBE???

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

For Buffy, I guess the question excludes answers like "what in general did you hate about the show." So I will say the sex at the dumpster in Doublemeat Palace. I already hated Spike, I hated the fact that they had a sexual relationship, and this bad sex humiliation just makes me cringe.

Because books.

For Buffy, sadly, I'd have to say most of S7.

On Angel, one of them was the Rat Pack reference in The House Always Wins, because continuity? Not so much.

Also truly, truly hated Cordelia's descent into St. Cordy, and the Angel/Cordy love (shudder).
