I don't think so. Didn't Angel get the phone call about Buffy being alive at the end of the season premiere? That should really come after Bargaining Pt 2, but you're already past that point in your watch and I can't think of any other crossovers those seasons.
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
David Boreanaz is the new Jim Rockford.
Huh. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I don’t like it, vibes all wrong.
Unless they pull of the seemingly impossible and find a way to make the answering machine thing work today
I associate The Rockford Files so completely with James Garner's charm and the vibe of 70s California, I can't imagine anyone doing well in a modern remake. And I've not observed David displaying that much charm in recent decades (though he's certainly the celebrity with the strongest physical resemblance to Garner). Maybe they should have aimed a little lower, like a remake of Spencer: For Hire.
I suppose the answering machine thing could be voicemails on a phone Rockford is always forgetting to check. But you know whatever modern interpretation of the theme song they do is going to be vastly inferior.
I have Hawaii 50 redux fears. They'll take what what was 70s-smart and 70s-sexy and replace it with a bunch of shooting.
I'll give it a shot though.
We find that hard to picture. Yeah, they could do voice-mails or a weird text or e-mail once in a while. Somebody picks up his phone and says "Don't you message with anyone who likes you?" "Yeah, but I guess it's been a few weeks." If the internet and Rockford had shown up together, Jim's eye-rolling face should have been a meme. Only absolute and total deal-breaker is if Angel shows up as a woman with huge ta-tas and tight -t-shirts.(They could even do that, if somehow those people managed to have the same relationship and not some dumb will-they-or-won't-they?)
is if Angel shows up as a woman with huge ta-tas and tight -t-shirts
This confused me for a hot second, because... Angel/Boreanaz. Very disconcerting. Then I remembered the actual Rockford Files.
I dunno, man. My love for Jim Rockford original recipe runs pretty deep. We'll see.
Also, one of the best TV show theme songs.

I just want to know who's going to play Mariette Hartley in the inevitable Polaroid ads. I'm also not sure why I immediately thought of Stana Katic rather than Emily Deschanel (probably for the same reason I briefly thought Boreanaz was Canadian -- I seem to have mentally jumbled my Whedon-series leads.)
This episode of free-association brought to you by memories of watching whimsical camera commercials with my mother at a formative age and asking "Is that Mrs Rockford?"
Fillion would make a much better Rockford. He's got the easy charm and the edge underneath.
