Tonight's double header is Beet Bad and Room w/a Vu. Let's go.
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
I am kind of cringing anticipating both of those! We just finished S1 last night, which is such a crucial turning point for the show. Rose was very pleased with herself for correctly predicting that the Hellmouth would open underneath the school. (Also, wow, I had forgotten how bad Xander had it for Buffy early on.)
I had forgotten baby Kal Penn is in Beer Bad! Aeryn immediately recognized him from House.
"When She Was Bad" report: By far the line that got the most laughs was Willow spelling out "b-i-t-c-h" and Xander saying, "A bitca?" Rose totally lost it.
You know, I don't think I gave SMG enough credit for her acting back when the show was airing. This time around I'm noticing that her moments of vulnerability in particular are SO good.
Also, hey there foreshadowing when Buffy challenges Angel to a fight!
Willow spelling out "b-i-t-c-h" and Xander saying, "A bitca?"
It's a classic for a reason!
Cordy's "I'm a bitch" speech in Rm w/a Vu is so satisfying. This is the first ep where we really start to see the show evolving into its best form too (who needs a case of the week when you've got this cast of characters to spend time with??)
And looking ahead, we're going to make it to Pangs just in time for Thanksgiving! Huzzah!
Oh, excellent
Very nice!
My kids had endured Pangs every year and never appreciated it. I am clearly a failure as a parent for sure.
I'm kinda bummed there's no way we'll make it to "Pangs" by next week.
Tonight's double header is Beet Bad and Room w/a Vu. Let's go.
Ha, I just realized I was mixing up "Rm w/ a Vu" and "Where the Wild Things Are." But I would love to watch a remake of "Beer Bad" that is all about evil beets.
Beer Bad also gave me the opportunity to explain "foamy." I do love passing on Buffista lore.
I can't remember the context but tonight at dinner A was talking about how great Oz is and specifically stated "Oz would never do anything wrong" and I agreed.
And then we watched Wild at Heart.
(We also watched Sense and Sensitivity, which, "Be a rainbow not a painbow" aside, has not aged well and it wasn't unproblematic in 1999 either.)
