Lindsey: Why--why did you... Lorne: One last job. You're not part of the solution, Lindsey. You never will be. Lindsey: You kill me? A flunky?! I'm not just...Angel...kills me. You...Angel... Lorne: Good night, folks.

'Not Fade Away'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

SO MANY THINGS.

Tara clipping the Lethe's whatever to her shirt in the beginning (so her looking it up later comes out of nowhere).

Everything in "I've Got A Theory / What Can't We Do" after Anya's bunnies solo - the scene just ends without even letting her finish the line "or maybe midgets."

One verse each from Rest In Peace and Walk Through The Fire, and Where Do We Go From Here. The exchange between Xander and Sweet where he decides not to make Xander his queen. (He just kind of...leaves.)

All the musical transitions are clipped and abrupt.

And it turns out I never bought S6 on DVD so this is all I have for now. FEH.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh man, that's terrible.

(But other than this, so far S6 plays WAY better on binge rewatch than it did in its first run. We are about to run full steam ahead into Magic-is-drugs territory, so I reserve the right to change my mind, but so far so good.)

S6 rewatch update:

Magic-is-drugs, still terrible. And now I'm mad all over again about what a strong arc this was when it started out and how quickly it went from scary to laughable when the writers started lazily copy-pasting in "spell" where they wanted to write "crack pipe". THAT IS NOT HOW METAPHORS WORK, WRITERS, GO BACK AND WATCH S1-3. OKAY SO THE PACK WAS A LITTLE ON THE NOSE BUT STILL YOU'LL SEE WHAT I MEAN. (I mean ARGH you have the groundwork all laid out, Willow has been using magic to escape her feelings for YEARS, and it's not surprising that it would get out of hand in an addictive way, but ARGHHHHHHH.)

brillig

But she became White Willow in the end, and the magic was good again!

See, I don't even mind the notion that some kinds of magic are good and some are harmful (and Willow is TOTALLY the kind of arrogant utilitarian who would dismiss that as ridiculous and use dark magic because it's easier and more powerful).

But instead of trusting the audience to understand that, we got slurred stumbling and giggling about dude I scored such a great spell last night, and Amy sneaking into Buffy's house to steal sage and ACTUAL CAR CRASH.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

As I recall from reports from our source inside the writer's room (coughSCRAPPYcough) a lot of the writing staff was in recovery so the addiction metaphor was a little too easy for them to reach for.

But I concur, JessiMoon, they blew a character arc which could have stood next to Wesley's story.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

ACTUAL CAR CRASH.

Man, I totally forgot the actual car crash.
