Tara: 'Your One-Stop Spot to Shop for Lots of New-Age and Occult Items.' Catchy. Giles: Think so? Tara: Uh huh. In a... hard to say sorta way.

'Sleeper'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm older now than Giles was supposed to have been in the first season. Goodness. Everyone's a baby.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

After watching "Angel," I remain 50/50 skeptical/horrified that a 240-year-old vampire would want to date a high schooler. I would buy someone in their early 30s, but not much younger.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

But it's DESTINY. (That's the only thing that makes it plausible. Well, plus Angel isn't the king of emotional maturity.)

Sure, but that explains my (then) 50-something uncle marrying my 30-something aunt! He still didn't get with a teenager! (The emotional maturity part, not the density part.)

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I figure it is stunted emotional growth.

He was not the greatest human being, a truely horrific vampire, got a soul, felt guilt and now needs to grow up. he really isn't much older than a teenage boy.

brillig

(The emotional maturity part, not the density part.)

Well, it is Angel, dense is a given.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Well, the shelf life on Slayers is not a long one, so perhaps he was concerned that waiting for her to mature any further would be fatal to her...or Joss was concealing his pedo tendencies.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I remain 50/50 skeptical/horrified that a 240-year-old vampire would want to date a high schooler.

The line from Let The Right One In, "I'm twelve, but I've been twelve a long time" rings true to me in this case - Angel's been around for 240 years, but he's also still more or less the age he was when he died. (Early 20s, we're supposed to be thinking, probably?) Plus, back in his day, 16 year-old girls were marriage material, so.

(IT'S STILL TOTALLY SKEEVY BUT I JUST FINISHED WATCHING GRADUATION DAY AND I MISS THEM ALREADY)

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to start rewatching Angel to keep pace, now that I'm up to S4.

OK, OK! I will keep loving them.
