Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

'Bring On The Night'

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

I'd love to see a once-off reunion of Sapphire & Steel. I loved how the series ended (would an American show ever end in such a negative way?), yet a small part of me would also love to see them escape their prison .

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

I also watched Black Books on a plane to and from the UK. One of the episodes featured Simon Pegg. I'm not sure whether that character came before or after 'The Editor', but there were... similarities of tone.

Bill Bailey (Bilbo from Spaced) is one of the leads in Black Books. He's a funny man. I saw him a couple of times in Edinburgh. Singing his songs. "Spiders, although not technically insects, in a war would side with the insects." Ah, takes me back.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"Spiders, although not technically insects, in a war would side with the insects."

Heeeeee. That's great.

Part Troll is one of my most favourite stand up shows of all time. If 'twere possible, I would make an honest man of Bill Bailey.

Or I'll just lunge wildly at the pope...

Darkplace is a British horror show from the 80s that was TOO SCARY TOO AIR.

Or possibly a send-up.

Aha, now they swear that there will be DVDs in July. Finally!

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

It was a send-up. It aired in, like, 2003.

Were you joking? I can't tell.

If you like bizarre Channel 4 comedies, I'd recommend Nightingales.

Strega - May 12, 2006 9:58:06 am PDT #8624 of 10001

Heh. Sorry; yes, I was joking. It just seemed like the easiest way to describe the show.

Nightingales sounds intriguing. I'm at the mercy of my supplier, but I'll add it to the list. I'm still working on Monkey Dust and Smack the Pony.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I'm guessing no one watched Smallville last night, or at least couldn't give enough of a crap to post about it.

Bleh.

And I thought Smallville was originally supposed to be a 5-seasons only sort of thing?

Art Crawl!!!

It was good. Lex became Zod. And Brainiac is causing the Apocalypse and Clark was imprisoned in one of those flying prismy things that Zod had been imprisoned in before.

sumi- I saw it. I just didn't care for it. Hence my "bleh."

Also, the "lets put the entire cast in mortal peril" cliffhanger annoyed me greatly. If they left it at Clark getting sent to the Phantom Zone I'd be all about "I wonder how he's going to get out of it?" But with the entire cast (minus Zod!Lex and Lana) being in "OMG, they're gonna die!!!!!11!!" situations, I'm thinking "Wow, instead of one asspull in the season premiere, we get to have 5."
