If I only had a brain...

I'm watching S1 every night with my son.

Me: "It seems like all of the Highlander's old friends wind up dying." Son: "Yup. And he's always wearing a poofy shirt if he's going to get into a swordfight. As well as a dramatic trenchcoat."

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hey, those coats are magical. You can hide a sword in them.

Art Crawl!!!

Exactly.

They should have done an episode explaining the origins of the magical coats -- sometime in the 18th or early 19th century, right?

I read a fic that suggested the reason Methos slouches all the time is that it's the only comfortable way to sit after he's stuffed all his sharp things into the lining.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The coats are bad enough, but there's one episode where Duncan just pulls his sword from off-screen like some kind of cartoon character with a mallet. At least the coat thing kind of makes sense if you don't think about it too hard.

I think I've heard "where Duncan keeps his sword" fanwanked as "katana space".

It's that kind of magic.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Now I want to see scenes where they grab lights and boom mikes from out of frame and use them in the fight.

All is well that ends in pizza.

One more Doctor Who:CI note for Consuela:

Most of the military stuff with the screens and the translator were at UNIT HQ. Torchwood only really had the Big Gun at the end.

UNIT, of course, being involved with aliens, including The Doctor, since the 70's.
