Woe to the fucking wicked.

But had he not done the, "No, wait, you're full of shit on general principle," thing, I'd have been rolling my eyes for days.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I buy that Vala could con someone once, which seems to be her MO, and I buy that she can talk her way out of being killed with her "But I'm so darn CUTE!" act when she's caught, because, well, she is. And she seems to be aware enough of her reputation to avoid going back to people/places she's stolen from.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The old James Garner movie Skin Game taught you to "never go back to a town you've conned."

If I only had a brain...

I think Vala's comment about being engaged until the Goauld took her was real, and that she then couldn't resist taking it over the top. But she was absolutely still saying it, in the way that she never is when trying to lie. See above re: incompetent con artist.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I enjoyed the hell out of SG-1, even though it didn't progress anything so far as I could tell, other than the funding thing. So now there's gonna be a civilian watchdog? Kinsey's gone, so ... should we hope for Robert Picardo again? I haven't heard any rumors of yet more new cast.

I have to admit, the meeting with the senator made all my meta-radar alarms go off.

The leather pants were a riot, as was the trail of silly missions. And the concept of a Jaffa trader... Huh. It makes some kind of sense, except in 9 years, we've never ever seen any Jaffa do anything but fight or be priests. It's a big break from established concepts of Jaffa culture.

Frankly, I'd have expected the Jaffa to step into the Goa'uld role on a lot of planets: they've got the weaponry, they've got the military habit down. Why not just take over and keep the human population working for them?

Loved Vala, though if Daniel had bought her line in the guest room, I would have thrown things at the tv. Glad to see he's keeping his brain going, despite the allure of yet another broken damsel. I'm gonna miss CB something awful. ::pouts:: what's wrong with having two women on the show, for pete's sake?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

In a sense, the fall of the Gou'ald is like the South during Reconstruction, or the end of the Soviet Union, with the reorganization of just about everything and upsets all around -- Jaffa out of jobs, even. It does make sense that not every one was suited to be a soldier/high priest -- surely some of them just wanted to be dentists, or really didn't like uniforms, or eyeliner.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Somewhere there must be a planet of misfit Jaffa.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Aww! Like, there's the clumsy Jaffa, and the Jaffa who uses contractions, and...

...which reminds me, something I like about Ronon? I'm pretty sure he uses contractions. He doesn't speak Overformal Stargate Alienspeak! Very exciting.

If I only had a brain...

How much did I love Vala curling a limp pinky at the secretary and winking?

Thiiiis much.

Not so much a performance based on realism, but always fun to watch.

Yeah, I saw that, but didn't get the reference. Help?
