A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Best. SGA. Evah. All Rodney, all the time. Despite the fact that the writers are desperately trying to slash him with everyone EXCEPT Sheppard to draw our attention away from the OTP that is McShep.
Mmmmm, new guy. He's hottitude on a stick, LOVE IT. Also loved the Weir/Sheppard interaction: "Look, puppy followed me home! Can I keep him, Mom?" "He'll be your responsibility - you'd better walk him & feed him."
Finally, the adorable wee Zelenka. I just can't get enough of him.
SG-1 wasn't bad either. The meta in "now you'll have to operate on 30% of your budget because Atlantis is getting all the attention" was pretty funny. It's like they've gone into constant farce mode over there. Once I got over the shock and stopped taking it at all seriously (more or less after the second ep), I started enjoying the hell out of it.
That and Daniel being so ridiculously cute.
Still not watching BSG. Or House. Starting to regret the latter but far too lazy to ahem' them. Anyone know if there are going to be reruns?
One interesting thing about SG-1 is the sudden appearance of all these non-Goa'uld spacefaring civilizations in our galaxy. Where the heck have they been all this time?
Also, the monk referred to Vala as Vezzina (or something very similar). The meta keeps on coming.
So, who're we thinking of as possible Cylons?
I'm thinking Cally, Gaeta, Dualla and Apollo.
Was the dripping blood -- first from Tyrol and then from Boomer -- to remind us of the similarity between the human-looking Cylons and the humans or to make us think that the Cylons could take that genetic material and make more human-looking Cylons from it? (At least, that seems to be Commander Adama's theory about what they are doing.)
I'm thinking the two dripping bloods (yeah, I know that's wrong) were to show us that humans and human-looking Cylons deep down are the same. Or, you know, close enough.
How does that line go? "If you prick me, do I not bleed?"
How does that line go? "If you prick me, do I not bleed?"
Or as Data said, "If you prick me, do I not...leak?"
Much, much, much though I love CB's performance, Vala is a completely unconvincing con woman. People know she's conning them before she even opens her mouth. You can't believe that anybody would buy into her for a second. Saffron was much better at it.
It's true. CB is lots of fun -- and this episode was very enjoyable -- but nobody would ever deal with her because she is so obviously untrustworthy.
Meanwhile - - on re-watch: Baltar asked for numbers of Cylons in the Fleet not on the ship. . . I'm thinking that maybe that representative who knows all the prophecies could be one. . . or maybe Zarek. . .

Maybe they figure they will thus be able to con her. Or, you know, they enjoy the sex. *waves hands madly*
I briefly did a double take when Roslin was looking at Zarek while addressing "Captain Apollo" just off screen.
Yeah, Vala is way over the top, although she did do a good job of getting to Daniel with the whole "I was engaged, then they stuck a Goa'uld in me" story.
