Yes. Lucky for you, people may be in danger.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

If I only had a brain...

Swearword smackdown:

What's your favorite made-up SF swearword? Mine is "frell" because it actually sounds like you're cursing. (Probably because it rhymes with "hell".)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What's your favorite made-up SF swearword?

Smeg. Although I never use it myself. "Frak" is good, but maybe sounds too close to "fuck."

Outside of SF, my favorite made-up swearword is from Beavis and Butthead: "butt dumpling."

Or from South Park: "Ass spelunker."

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

What's your favorite made-up SF swearword?

I don't think it originated there, but I always liked MST3K's use of "dickweed".

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

"Felgercarb"!

No, not really. I use frell all the time.

Conversation Tuesday night:

Me: "It's 90 damn degrees again."
Daughter: "Language, Mom."
Me: "Okay, it's 90 frelling degrees again."
Daughter: "Geekishness, Mom."

In the seventies, Marvel Comics started using "spit" in place of "shit," leading to wonderful phrase "I'm scared spitless." Ah, the comics code.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

See that one almost works (fear causing dry mouth and all), but you start exploring other options like "you're full of spit", "spithead", "bullspit" or "eat spit and die", and it gets frelling hilarious.
