{{Emmett, Emmett's nose, Emmett's family!}} Poor thing. But story to tell after the painful part of the memory is gone.

Eeeee. Hec just called back - he and Emmett's mom are both there with him; the swelling is going down and Emmett is calm and quiet now, but Hec said he was screaming and hollering with pain at first.
He rode to the ER in an ambulance, poor screamy lamb.
And he's mellowed out, icepacking his face and cuddled with his parents, but he's out of commission for a few weeks, and right now he's pretty adamant about No More Baseball.
Poor critter. He got such pleasure from it, and he's so good at it.
Fucking MARCH.
Walk it off, kid...
What?
Poor Emmett. I've gotten hit in the face several times. Fortunately, the worst I ever got was a black eye.
Oh, poor Emmett.
Oh, poor Emmett and poor Hec. You feel so terrible when the kid's hurt; it's always your fault somehow.
Also? It's frelling snowing here.
NO! This is WRONG! Now March is harming poor little Emmet!
That is IT!
IT IS NOW OFFICIALLY APRIL!
If we all think it's April, then March can't hurt us. The Buffista's can make a new callender, one where March doesn't exist, except in letter heads handed down from strange and creepy bosses.
My experience with kids is that they find it much easier to back down if you don't argue with them. Let Emmett say loudly that he never wants to do baseball again, nod and sympathize.
That way he hasn't had a chance to back himself into a position he may think better of.
Poor Emmett. Please keep us updated, JZ.
I am so sorry that I brought the Buffistas to March's attention. Next year I'll just throw myself heroically into a hell dimension at the beginning of the month and save you all the angst.
