I always use metaphors to teach stuff that people aren't getting when I describe them literally. It usually works, and when it doesn't at least it gets the students laughing. At me.

We're watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame AIFG. I haven't liked a lot of earlier ones because I'm not a big awards show fan, but now TiVo lets us fast forward through the dull or cheesy parts so it's really fun to watch. Chrissie Hynde was wonderful and now, after an AMAZING speech by Bruce Springsteen, U2 is kicking ass.

I only got to see him once, the first night I got in, and then I was totally swamped with the conference. It was great to see him.
So far I've watched the 90 minute SG-1 from over a week ago.
