You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Welcome Mallory James!

I had a lot of trouble socially in high school. I remember getting some information about an early college program, and my guidance counselor mentioned that I could take the GED and go to college without finishing high school. I asked my parents, and they said no, and I didn't push it. I'm not really sure which was I would have done better. College with kids my age was definitely really important socially, but I'm not sure it balances out the bad aspects of high school.

"My drink preference does not indicate my sexual preference. "

I turned it down because most of the higher level colleges don't like the 3 year program. Which is, any kid that wants to, can graduate a year early if they take certain classes.

For some idiotic reason, I was convinced my Senior year would be worth all the b.s. For what I've seen.... not so worth it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Raquel and Mr. Raquel! Welcome, Mallory!

Our wings are not tired.

It's Spring Break in the Holt household! Yeah, not for me. #1 son is doing basketball camp at the HS this week daily from 8AM-4PM. #2 son chose the sleep in late and play around the house option.

The boys will have the option of doing HS in 3 years, but their sports interests would make it desirable to stay as seniors. Taking off for college at 16 or 17 will not lead to playing time. Academics and social age are two parts of the equation, but sports are a big deal to them too. (I'm trying so hard to understand this jock thing)

[Edited to wave at Laura. I find it annoying when some people in the house are on vacation, but others aren't. Everybody should have vacation time!]

Bestest xpost is to edit to say hi to Nilly while she edits to say hi to me! I'm all smiley now.

Bestest x-post is me seeing your edit and wanting to type that x-posting "hi"s is the best x-post, and coming to your post saying the same thing.

I wish I had time to join the ongoing discussion, which seems really interesting. Sigh. Maybe I'll actually catch up, though. I hadn't done even that in a while.
