I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Where is everyone?

At the Grilled Cheese Invitational tonight there was a set aside space with couches, one of which held a passed out vomit stained drunken clown, and the next one over held 2 people having sex. This world really is quite the juggler.

This is a lie, right? Because, COME ON.

I just realized I have to make a phone call I am not looking forward to AT ALL. And then I feel bad about the lack of forward-looking-ness. Urk.

Our wings are not tired.

Whew. Just got back from 5-6 hours of looking at yachts at the boat show in W. Palm Beach. It was dandy. I am a bit pink from the sun and sore from walking so much. I can say for certain that I have never climbed so many ladders in one day in my life. We must have boarded and checked out 20 or so. One had a spa tub, but the thought of DH actually getting in it was silly.

I've been working on DH to get him to agree to selling the house and living on a boat for 18 years and I think I may have made headway today. There were several he could stand up in which is a plus.

Bobby went with us and had a blast. He's all for it, but #1 thinks we have lost our sanity to consider such a thing.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

This is a lie, right? Because, COME ON.

Seriously? This is from a girl who doesn't lie. So, my guess is no.

I'm about to go to sleep. My skull is throbbing.

Really when I said "lie," I meant "joke." Because COME ON.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Language Log made me yell. Less flapping, people! Less flapping, more distinction!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I was skippy-skimmy-catchyuppy and might have missed something, but did you people REALLY have a relative cuteness stages of John Stamos and neglect to mention BLACKIE PARRISH?

So I kicked a chick in the head and in the ribs hard enough to leave a mark.

But three people were attacking me with weapons!

Yeah, I should have been more in control. Or they should have had me working with guys.

Okay, maybe it's about control. Still, when one person has your hands trapped, and there's a chick with a knife and another with a gun coming at you -- well, I'm not that good yet, to take it all calmly.

No one was injured in the making of this realisation. Bruised, but that's not the same thing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ooh, Laura. That sounds so cool. Now that you're moving the office out of the house it must be an easier sell.

Wow. So sad. I wonder if being such a prodigy made him so different from the norm that his responses are inscrutable? Or is it just that someone so talented makes us feel weird, and we reflect that back?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That is sad. But I'm suspicious of the families of academic prodigies in the same way I'm suspicious of the families of any other kid who is that exceptional that young -- how much of the accomplishment is child-driven? Not that I have any more experience with that kind of thing than the average 60 Minutes watcher.
