Hi Plei! (eta: and Aurelia)
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Hi Plei! (eta: and Aurelia)
Hi Lee! (I'll start remembering to call you Perkins when you've moved and stuff.)
How goes packing? Have you considered looking on Craig's List for new home furnishings?
I keep looking at the Seattle one, but everyone here seems to buy and sell beige.
Hey Plei - pretty much. Officially like 2 weeks to go, but one of today's appointments is to check dilation etc and maybe get a more accurate due date. I would be happy to have it be sooner (except for the silliness of sharing a birthday with my own child).
How are you doing? You're coming up on the last stretch too, huh?

I've done some of my books, and my CDs. Not much else.
I haven't looked at Craig's list for furniture. I should do that.
I am going to mail you part B of the Princess's present this week, I hope.

Yep. My due date is 5 1/2 weeks away, but my provider is talking about closer to 3-5 weeks, depending on what my blood pressure does and how my NSTs look. (So far, the former is stable and the latter have been just fine.) Oh, yeah, and depending on how my cervix is coming along at that point.
I'd like to go to about 39 weeks, if at all possible. I'd like to avoid 37 weeks, as that would involve an amnio (to check for lung development).

You should! I bet the bay area CL has way better stuff than Seattle. (It's not a quality issue with the stuff on the Seattle list, it's an ugly issue. Sadly, that issue extends to our actual stores, so I'm probably doomed to never have nice things.)
OOH, I think I have a new obsession.
This would be good for my balcony: [link]
and I love this: [link]
Mwahahaha!
Lee, I am addicted to the CL classifieds. Addicted, I tell you. It started back when we were still thinking about looking to replace the Civic, and it just hasn't let up.
Mwahahaha!
EVIL!!
I like the armoire with the cat finial. The cat comes with it, right?
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Plei. 39 weeks sounds pretty good. Did I tell you guys about touring the hospital here? It was surreal. First, it's orange. Violently in-your-face orange and chrome and wood panelling, very early 70s. Second, the front steps (which are slick marble with no handrails, nice when you can't see your feet to waddle up them) are full of pregnant women smoking. Third, it's just packed. It's like a day-after-Christmas sale every time, having to shove through people. The tour was in Greek, which I mostly followed, but I still don't speak very much (thank heaven "epidural" is a Greek word), so whenever I asked a question I got a "OMG! A talking horse!" reaction. But the actual midwives and doctors are cool, and mostly speak English.
I was having major first-world guilt though - because my insurance pays for a private room for me, I'll be staying in a luxury two-room suite on the top floor, where only politicians and shipping magnates usually stay (mini-bar with scotch, even). The other girls on the tour with me will be staying in rooms that have three beds per. I kind of wish they hadn't taken all of us to see everybody's room.
