You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

What is even happening?

I think of morals as the private (which may be community determined--or part of a religious code) and ethics as public. There's an overlap, but there are also differences.

Almare, I can't speak for the rest of the Buffistas, but I don't know what you mean by corrupted, or what your initial point was. I don't know if you're being funny and I'm not following you, or if you're being earnest. In part, this is probably my fault, and partly, it's probably the fault of the medium, but also, you're an unknown quantity. I think that's why we're not getting you, because we have no information stored up about you in our brains, to help us.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

It's like explaining humidity to a Roswell girl. Difficult and fustrating.

Not really. Humidity is like standing inside a sponge that has been microwaved in a bowl of dirty dishwater.

Done.

"My drink preference does not indicate my sexual preference. "

In South Florida, it's like the land that morals forgot.

Picture a land where children are raised from childhood to be Buffistas. A land where hookers and rap-gansters are idolized. A land where at the turn of winter, our tiny obscure world is filled with Canadians.

A land where, stereotypes are mocked, but the children become one with their stereotype.

A land where everyone as far as the eye can see, is what the government calls a minority. Where it's really really really cool to be gay or bisexual and the primary language is Spanish. Where Churches has to keep open minds because their clients are rather strange themselves. A land where the stranger you are, or the more stereotypical you are, the better a person you can be.

A land where in school, the cheerleaders and athletes are on the bottom of the social scale, and the best and most popular title is "Most Ghetto Lesbian"

A land where Ayn Rand is read universally and people can just as easily discuss Tupoc or the creative productions of a communist civillization.

A land where 19 out of 20 voted for Kerry.

A Golden Land, called South Florida.

I'm not exactly looking forward to dealing with a carseat in a 2-door, but we'll have to for at least the first year or so.

A friend of mine currently has 2 carseats in the backseat of her acura....um, it's a sportscar. Really hard for ME to get in the backseat. And she's got a 18 month old and a 2.5 year old, so it is REALLY interesting to watch her load them up. But much less trauma than I expected. She has it down to a science. They now know to duck their heads....

She actually prefers transporting them in that than the 2 door forerunner because of the hassle of climbing up in the latter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? checks credentials

This is where I'm getting lost. "Corrupted" seems to imply such a value judgement. Maybe it's just me.

A Golden Land, called South Florida.

I grew up there! Yay hookers. Actually, I see more hookers in San Francisco. Usually Filipino boys in full drag. We have some rappers too, though, frankly Oakland totally dominates that scene.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

So, are you equating liberalism with no morals? Or is that part tongue-in-cheek?

"My drink preference does not indicate my sexual preference. "

I don't know. I think my point got lost somewhere around the canadians.

I think the idolization is a good thing because we see it as people who have managed to find a way to become private business managers who have kept their business thriving in a difficult world. Business folk are highly respected, as that Miami has many families in the business.

Any form of survival is considered highly admirable.

Considering the alternative - I'm down with that.

What ChiKat said. I know you're taking the piss. I don't know where you're taking the piss. I wish you would just state your point plainly.

When Hec DavidS waxes philosophical about hookers and Canadians, I have a shot at sussing out his point, because we talk together, all the time. You're just still an unknown.

Sorry, crossposted with you, Almare.
