You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

In LJ, I know you can set up different reading filters, and have done so. Is there any way to make one of them the default friends' view? Right now, every time I select the filter, read my fl, leave and come back, the fl seems to default to the whole fl. I would like to make the filter my default.

Call one of the freinds views "default."

What is even happening?

DX, where? That's what I can't figure out.

It's snowing here again. Yee. Ha. Meh.

Oh yeah. It started around 12:15, just as we were leaving the house. tommyrot, we had your rain, ice, snow weather earlier in the week. I'm sick to death of it. I know I'm probably making the people in the snowbelt laugh, but I'm pretty sure this is our snowiest winter on record.

Cindy, it should be the very first item on the list here: [link]

It's called "Default View." Just add the people you want to be in your default to this list.

What is even happening?

DX, I figured out the problem. I checked that little box on the page where it reads:

Friends Filter
Select Groups
Check the group(s) of friends you want to view on your friends list.
Default Reading Filter
But it wasn't sticking. I think the problem was, I didn't update my bookmark, so I was choosing the full friends view every time. Now I've got it. Thank you.

Ex-Marine Says Public Version of Saddam Capture Fiction

I tend to be a little skeptical by anything published in the Saudi press since all the papers are controlled by the government. Three years ago another Saudi daily, Al-Riyadh, published an actual blood libel. That's not to say the story isn't accurate or that Al-Medina (the paper that printed the story) isn't a legitimate paper. But I have to wonder why this particular marine hasn't been interviewed by any U.S. journalists.

I think that's sound skepticism.

And yet, I also find myself skeptical of the "official" US version of any events in the war over there, particularly the media spectacles like Jessica Lynch or Saddam's capture.

Ex-Marine Says Public Version of Saddam Capture Fiction

I'm a little skeptical of this story too. For one thing, why make up a different capture story? The guy was still captured and I don't see what it would gain to have this other story.
