It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

In college and law school I just skewered a marshmallow and lit it with a regular Bic, or the "Big lighter with the [click click trigger motion]."

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I spent several years of college living in a badly heated dorm, and we all had electric space heaters, even though they were theoretically banned by the authorities. Many of us were known to roast marshmallows over the space heaters.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

and I got drunk enough that toasting marshmallows on skewers over the burners on our gas stove seemed like a good idea.

Can't do it. We did this with hotdogs once when I was growing up, and my friend came down with strep the next day, and to our seven-year-old selves the evidence couldn't have been clearer. To this day I can't contemplate cooking something in the gas flame like that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm having an IM conversation with someone who's lying to me. I don't know why he's bothering. He caves when I point out where he's shitting me.

Cool. Except no Scream yet. Hopefully this theft is related to the earlier one, and The Scream will be recovered too.

Today I learned that Munch painted multiple copies of The Scream. The copy that was stolen in 1994 was a different copy than the one stolen last year (or whenever).

eta:

Pedersen and Stensrud said the two recent Munch thefts did not appear to be linked. "There are no grounds for assuming any connection between the thefts, but we will be talking to the Oslo police about it."

"It seems to be a fashion among criminals to steal Munch," the hotel owner Salbuvik said. "How professional is it to steal art? Great value, big risk and hard to sell. They would have to be very slow in the head to do it."

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Matt -- I thought you were supposed to hang them like a painting?

That's one option, but they also come with collapsible stands. And hanging on the wall would halve my effective "wall space" for the surrounding shelves of videotapes, as I now have the TV on a corner stand and the shelves arranged in an L shape to either side of it. I went with the precarious spacesaver option.
