I liked Natalie's dress in the abstract, but I was dubious about the color on her.

I think I liked Cate Blanchett's. I usually see any yellow-based color with any red based color as screaming MCDONALD'S, but it was just the right color for her, which is a hard thing for the blond, and the cranberry belt made it pop. It's something I never would have put together (and couldn't wear the color combo, myself), but I liked it. I wish I'd seen her on screen.
Natalie's? I don't know. That dress needs boobage. I don't like the cut-to-the-waist dresses, but they need some boobage, not too much, but more than what Natalie's got. There were too many small breasted women in the strapless, sweetheart bodice. I think it's the fault of the cut of the dress, not the bodice, or the breasts. Maybe if it had come up a little higher? I don't know.
Salma made my usually least favorite color combination a complete winner. I think it was great with her coloring, and her make-up was just right.
Hollywood needs major lessons in boobular containment. Most of those girls were flopping all over the place, and not in good ways.
I claim that if the word "flop" can be accurately used, there is no good way.
Well, and boob building, too. I don't want everyone to look like they have implants, but you can bet your left one, that the svelte starlets of the 40s and 50s didn't manage to look flat and saggy at the same time.
I am on my 5th attempt to get anyone to pick up the phone at the Drs office. I have tried 2 different extentions and I know they are not closed. RIdiculous.
Salma was so beautiful she made Penelope Cruz look fugly when they presented together--quite a feat.
Maybe Salma bribed Penelope's stylist to attach the butt bow.
I didn't think Penelope's butt bow was problematic. It echoed an old form of bustles (I don't know my clothing eras), that I like. In general, I think butt bows are evil, but I thought it worked okay on her. Like Cate, Penelope is another person I wouldn't have put in yellow because of her coloring, but I think it looked great on her. I have a hard time with yellows, so I tend to always say NO, but they can be so appealing.
I didn't think Penelope's butt bow was problematic.
Oh, it so was. First, she has no butt to hold it up. Second, it looked like it had been clipped on at the last second with a safety pin. Third, it was a butt bow.
